Jossie Ivanov drinking from a drinking fountain

Neighborhood Drinking Fountain is a not-for-profit organization started by founder Jossie Ivanov, a longtime lover of drinking fountains and fresh water.

Trained as an architect and city planner, Jossie has spent her career creating human-centered designs and long-range plans to make places more comfortable, memorable, and climate-resilient. She wrote her master’s thesis at MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning on drinking fountains and their role in public space, and is currently developing a book based on this work. She is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on drinking fountains.
